The first cold weather of November is making itself felt and the desire to return to the ski slopes is beginning to itch all skiers. The question that arises is therefore to know in which ski resorts in the Alps it is possible to ski from November.
Most ski resorts open their slopes in early December, often on the first weekend. In 2024, this weekend falls on November 30. Let's focus on these in this article ski resorts opening in november.
Ski resorts that have areas at very high altitudes or whose lifts provide access to glaciers open during the month or are already open. For example, resorts like Breuil et Zermatt, or Val Senales and Pitztal, to name a few.
However, most resorts or ski areas will indeed start by opening the well-snowed slopes at altitude and on the glaciers, then little by little the area will expand with the improvement of the snow cover in December. This is the case of French ski resorts such as Tignes et Val Thorens, for example, and others which will be cited in this article.
Some stations, like Verbier and its ski area for example, sometimes choose to open their area on the weekends preceding the official opening often scheduled for early December.
